The first machine on our list of the best sewing machines for quilting is this one from Brother. Knowing how much of a good reputation Brother have for their sewing machines, we knew that we were going to be impressed but we were more than surprised by the fantastic performance of this machine.
Upon first testing out this sewing machine, what immediately impressed us was the sheer number of stitches that are available to choose from. There are 100 in total, including a quilting stitch. We really felt that this machine is perfect for both beginners and experts which is another bonus.
Something that really surprised us about this machine is how lightweight it is. We had no trouble carrying it from one place to the next. When it comes to using the machine, we found it very easy to switch between the different sewing modes. We didn’t have any trouble using the machine at all.
The only thing we could possibly say in negative terms about this sewing machine is that it will take quite a while to learn all of the different stitches and how to use them. Aside from this, this Brother sewing machine is fantastic for those who want to get into the art of quilting.
2. Husqvarna Viking H Class 100 Q Review

- It comes with plenty of accessories, including extra feet and bobbins.
- It is very easy to use so perfect for beginners.
- It offers a nice selection of quilting stitches.
- It could perhaps benefit from more built in stitches as there are only 20 to choose from.
The next sewing machine on our list is this model from Viking. We had heard of them but weren’t overly familiar so we weren’t sure what to expect from this one, but we were actually really impressed with this one.
What instantly stood out for us is how lightweight and compact this sewing machine is. It is perfect if you need to take your machine with you to different places. What is even better is that it still feels incredibly well made, despite being so lightweight and compact.
In terms of using this sewing machine, we had no trouble at all. All of the different features are very easy to use and we didn’t have any difficulty using the different feet or stitching modes. We definitely felt that this would be ideal for the beginner quilter.
There are only 20 stitches to choose from, which is a bit of a shame as we felt that it would have been better with some more included. However, of those 20, there are some nice quilting stitches to choose from.
One thing that we really liked about this machine is that it comes with some really nice accessories including extra feet and bobbins along with plenty of other bits and pieces. It is a fantastic machine for the beginner quilter.
3. Toyota CEV Review

- There are plenty of accessories included such as a piping foot and a roller foot, along with many others.
- The machine doesn’t jump around when it is in use.
- There are a good number of stitches to choose from.
- The needle on the machine does seem to struggle a little with some thicker fabrics.
The final spot on our list of the best sewing machines for quilting goes to this machine by Toyota. Knowing that this is a highly reputable brand, we weren’t surprised by how impressed we were with this one, which is actually quite a basic machine in comparison to some of the others.
The first thing that really stood out to us with this one is the large dial. We found that this made choosing between the different stitches incredibly easy and we didn’t have any trouble using the machine and it’s different modes at all.
During use, we were pleased to find that there was no jumping around from the machine at all; it felt incredibly sturdy. There are a good range of stitches to choose from, including some quilting stitches.
We also really liked the fact that there are so many accessories included with this machine, including an extension table, a roller foot and a piping foot to name just a few. You definitely get very good value for money.
The only things that we didn’t like were the noise levels because the machine is quite loud and the fact that the needle on the machine does seem to struggle a little with thicker fabric. However, for a basic machine, this one is great.
